Assembly Workshop Extension as part of £2 Million Investment Plan
Over recent weeks, an impressive extension has been added to our Assembly Workshop in Muir of Ord as part of a £2 million investment in RSE’s facility expansion plans.
By continuing to invest in production facilities and increasing workshop space, our teams’ capabilities can be developed to enhance our wider service offering to the UK water industry. The company’s growth will create new jobs in engineering, manufacturing, and delivery across a range of roles, including a significant drive in graduate and apprentice positions.
The new assembly workshop will double the existing clean assembly area from 1520m2 to 3380m2, with the installation of two Street Crane 20 tonne overhead double girder gantry cranes.
The workshop facility has also been designed to be carbon neutral in operation. Underfloor heating will be configured to run by air source heat pumps powered by a 50kW solar array, which will be installed onto the roof of the workshop building. Ri Cruden will be enlisted to install the solar panels after the installation of the building’s cladding and fall arrest system.
RSE has been collaborating with local firms including AJ Engineering and Construction and Zenith Survey to fabricate the steelwork and erect the frame of the building, with the next stage being the installation of the insulated Kingspan quadcore cladding on the roof and walls.
The new assembly workshop facility with over 11m of internal height will increase our modular building fabrication capabilities and our Electrical teams are actively working to accelerate its completion by working on delivering building services, including power sockets and lighting.
Our teams look forward to seeing the progression of the workshop extension as the internal fit out starts to take shape and workshop operations can commence.
