On Friday 12th May, RSE Project Manager Andrew Sutherland took part in Strictly Inverness 2023, performing a quickstep and lyrical routine with dance partner Lindsey Crombie, alongside a group dance.

Strictly Inverness is an annual fundraising event that raises valuable funds for local charities, The Highland Hospice and the Inverness Ice Centre. 16 amateur couples competed across the event, judged by Strictly Come Dancing stars Janette and Aljaž, which has raised over an incredible £200,000 to be split across the two charities.

RSE was delighted to support Andrew as Corporate Sponsor for Strictly Inverness and his hard work and commitment to his dance training in preparation for his performances certainly paid off. Andrew individually managed to raise an amazing £7,327 and our team had a brilliant night cheering him and Lindsey on.

It’s been a brilliant experience meeting so many great and kind people. The training and fundraising over the last five months were hard going at times and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, particularly my fiancé Justine.

To go out there and perform on the night and get the reaction we did from the crowd was such an incredible buzz and it was great to have support from friends, family and RSE colleagues.

I wanted to take part in this event as I’ve seen first-hand the amazing work of the Highland Hospice and what a difference it makes to people going through the worst of times.

Congratulations to Strictly Inverness 2023 winners Natalie & Stevie and to all the couples who took part, everyone had a fantastic night and such an incredible amount has been raised for a very worthy cause.
